SEND
STAY AND Play group

The SEND support at Little Foxes has been brilliant. They have created an inclusive environment where my child is understood, accepted and encouraged to be themselves.

September 2026 SEND stay and play group now on sale!
We are very excited to launch our new SEND Stay and Play Group, now open for bookings for September 2026!
At Little Foxes, we are passionate about supporting all children to feel safe and included. We believe that all children should have the opportunity to access nature, through every season. We also love to connect with families, alongside supporting families to build relationships with each other. Born of these beliefs, we are running a new SEND Stay & Play Group, where families of children with SEND can meet and build friendships with others, in an inclusive, welcoming environment. We welcome children from babies to 11 years old.
The group will be run by Helen Wong. Helen has extensive experience supporting children with SEND, having worked in specialist education for over a decade, before joining Little Foxes as a qualified SENDCo and Level 3 Forest School Leader. Helen has also been a very active member of the Home Education community for many years, and understands how important connection is when finding your feet.
The group is based at the beautiful Westbury Wildlife Park Foundation. This is an idyllic wildlife sanctuary and woodland area in Westbury-on-Trym. You can find it on Trym Rd, Bristol BS9 3ET.
The session will run on a Friday from 1.30pm to 2.45pm. We accept termly bookings only and a 6 week term is £60 for one adult and child. Each additional sibling will receive a 50% discount, using code AEP663. One adult may bring a maximum of two children. Additional children require one extra adult to attend.
Sessions will begin with a delicious snack toasted on the fire, then children can explore the themed activities and crafts on offer, or make the most of the sensory activities in the mud kitchen. Every week there will be a low pressure Forest School skill project on offer, run by Helen (for example, woodwork). Children are welcome to participate, or simply enjoy and explore the beautiful woodland. Hot drinks will be available for adults and children throughout the session. To close the session we will meet at the log circle and enjoy a short story or song and have some time to reflect on what the children have enjoyed.
We hope you can join us in Westbury Wildlife Park Foundation soon for some woodland fun. Add yourself onto the mailing list by popping us an email with your child's name and your contact details.

what to wear
This is a fairly open area of forest so if it's raining full wet weather gear and wellies is advised. In the summer it can also be useful to come in full length trousers to avoid midgy bites and scratches.
treats
There's treats for parents as well as children at our playgroup. Hot chocolate, tea and coffee is available. Children always enjoy a snack cooked on the fire.
