STAY AND  Play group

Attending Little Foxes playgroup has improved Scarlett's imaginative play, confidence, learning capacity, enthusiasm, self-belief , communication and problem-solving skills.  I cannot recommend it highly enough!

We are very excited to announce the return of  to restart our Stay and Play group back up in September 2021.  Due to some new conservation measures within Stoke Park Estate changes for the playgroup have happened since we last met, meaning that we can no longer use our woodland site there.  Instead we are super excited to announce a collaboration between ourselves and the Westbury Wildlife Park Foundation!  This is a beautiful new wildlife sanctuary and woodland area in Westbury-on-Trym.  You can find it on Trym Rd, Bristol BS9 3ET.

We will have Monday sessions taking place and the first term will be 6 weeks long: 13th, 20th, 27th September, and 4th, 11th and 18th October.

We're excited to also be offering Thursday sessions too now for the 6 week term.

These will be on Thursdays 16th, 23rd and 30th September, and the 7th, 14th and 21st October.

Our sessions take place there at:

9:15am-10:30am and

10:45am to 12pm

We accept termly bookings only and the cost is £48 for the 6 week term for 2 adults with one child.  Tickets for additional children/ siblings can be purchased at £2 per child per session so £12 for the term.  Our sessions involve a range of exciting forest activities for your children to get involved with. We always cook around the fire with treats range from marshmallows to pasta and homemade bread.  Children will have the opportunity to:

  • Play in the mud kitchen

  • Do natural painting

  • Play with our small world toys and in the natural construction area

  • Go bug hunting

  • Explore the woodland trail

  • Enjoy reading in a sheltered reading area.

We also run an adult led activity in addition to these each week which can be anything from woodwork, bird watching, Gruffalo hunting and so much more.  Hot drinks are available for adults and children throughout the morning.  At the end of the session parents, carers and children all get together for singing and sometimes parachute games.  We hope you can join us in Westbury Wildlife Park Foundation soon for some woodland fun.  Add yourself onto the mailing list by popping us an email with your child's name and your contact details.

what to wear

This is a fairly open area of forest so if it's raining full wet weather gear and wellies is advised.  In the summer it can also be useful to come in full length trousers to avoid midgy bites and scratches.

There's treats for parents as well as children at our playgroup.  Hot chocolate, tea and coffee is available.  Children always enjoy a snack cooked on the fire.
